Scientific mandate

The scientific mandate is a mechanism deployed to respond to the complex challenges faced by sports organizations. In order to find innovative solutions, we combine scientific perspectives (e.g. literature review), field perspectives (e.g. interviews with people in the community) and analysis of international flagship programs. The process ends with the co-creation of a list of recommendations that the organization will integrate into its strategic planning.

Who is the program for?

Sports federations

National or provincial, it's a federation that aspires to achieve its goals.

Government institutions

Institution seeking to validate its orientations or create large-scale projects

Professional organizations

Major league organization seeking to develop its competitive edge

Here's what you do

The scientific mandate is adapted to the needs and objectives of each organization. We present the complete process, but it can be carried out in individual parts.

1

The key question

Give yourself a question to guide your actions.

Like a good research project, the first step in the scientific mandate is to bring out a research question that will guide the entire mandate. ‍

What we offer:

A preliminary conversation between our team and your organization to understand the context and issues. From this conversation, a list of questions will emerge, and the best ones will be selected.

2

The sports community

Understand the reality of community stakeholders

To find solutions to a community's complex issues, it's vital to gather the perspective of its members. This approach helps us generate possible solutions.‍‍

What do we offer?

In the spirit of qualitative research, we conduct semi-structured interviews with community members to produce an analysis report that identifies key questions to be answered.

3

The scientific review

Join forces with the scientific community to find enlightening answers.

Our team of scientific analysts is at the organization's disposal to review the scientific literature that has addressed questions similar to those of the organization we are working with.

What do we offer?

Depending on needs and the key issue, a predetermined number of items are reviewed and an analysis report is submitted to the sports organization.

4

Best practices

Enrich your thinking by drawing inspiration from leading international programs.

What are the best programs in the country and the world... and more importantly, what are they doing that's exceptional? These are the two questions that will guide this phase of our scientific mandate.

What do we offer?

Having identified the relevant flagship programs in line with the objectives of the scientific mandate, we will discuss these programs with influential people to identify guiding principles and best practices that may explain their success.

5

Co-creating a legacy

Mobilize the various sources of information generated by the scientific mandate to lay the foundations for change.

With the scientific, local and international perspectives having enriched our thinking, this final phase of the scientific mandate enables us to take full ownership of the issue, in order to draw clear conclusions and an action plan to implement.

What are we proposing?

Through a series of co-creative meetings between the TBP team and members of the sports organization, a list of recommendations will be generated and become the focus of the final report.
